Tom Doorley is an Irish flautist, composer, arranger, conductor and educator. A former member of Danú, he has toured and recorded internationally and has created major projects with the National Folk Orchestra of Ireland. His work explores the connections between traditional music, storytelling, memory, people and place.

Tom Doorley is an Irish flautist, composer, arranger, conductor and educator. A former member of Danú, he spent more than a decade touring and recording internationally before developing an increasingly substantial body of orchestral and narrative work rooted in Irish traditional music. As composer, arranger and conductor with the National Folk Orchestra of Ireland, his projects explore music, memory, people and place, including Oriel Wave, Dúchas na Dothra and By Lagan Stream. Alongside his creative and performing work, Tom teaches at second level and lectures in Irish Traditional Music at TU Dublin. He holds a Master’s in Education from Dublin City University.
